Hi, I’m Nils Smith, the WebPastor at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, TX and author of The Social Media Guide for Ministry.
CBC is one of the largest and fastest growing churches in the United States. As WebPastor I oversee the entire web presence of CBC including CommunityBible.com, mobile app, Online Church, and all future developments online. I had the opportunity to launch the ministry of Online Church reaching over 12,000 people each week from more than 400 different cities around the world. We offer online services in both English and Spanish as well as Online LifeGroups and have a growing Facebook Community of over 230,000 people.
The Social Media Guide for Ministry will release in March 2013 through Group Publishing. It has been a great privilege to put together this resource for the Church and it is my prayer that the learnings that I share in this book can be adapted to many different ministry areas maximizing these incredible online tools to further the purposes of the Church.
This is my personal blog where we discuss many different topics, but the primary focus of conversation is the intersection of church and technology. My goal is to encourage and inspire others to use the technological tools at our fingertips for the purposes of the church.
I typically post here 4-5 times each week sharing from my ministry experience, what is inspiring me, or maybe just something that made me smile. I hope you will find my posts to be encouraging, challenging, and practical to apply to your ministry or organization.

My Biography:
I am a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in Business Management and Rockbridge Seminary with a Masters in Ministry Leadership.
I began serving in ministry in 1999 in Youth Ministry and have over 10 years experience in full-time ministry as a Youth Pastor, Young Adult Pastor, and in Online Ministry.
I have been married for eight years to my wife, Katie, and we have 2 beautiful girls together. We love travelling as much as possible (especially to NYC) and when home spend much of our time watching reality TV (The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, and Survivor).
I am also a huge sports fan (Spurs, Astros, and Texans) and enjoy playing golf as much as possible. You will also find me reading John Maxwell or Michael Hyatt’s newest books or downloading one of Andy Stanley’s leadership podcasts.
