Family Vacation in Houston

I apologize for the delay in posts recently.  Things have been nonstop since I began my new role at CBC and this past week we have spent the week with family in Houston.  While this is a variance from my normal posts, I thought I would share some of our favorite spots in Houston that we stopped into this week that I think you should check out if you're ever in Houston:

Coco's Crepes and Coffee

This is a Midtown gem that we always make a stop at in Houston.  When we were first married we lived in the Post Midtown Lofts and we would walk down to Coco's almost every Saturday morning.  Great crepes and coffee with an incredible atmosphere!  There lunch crepes are very good as well and worth trying.

Houston Children's Museum

This was our first time to the Children's Museum and we were blown away.  It was only blocks from our townhome when we lived in the Museum District (we actually lived in the 4th Ward but it always sounded better since we were close to the Museum District to say that) but since we didn't have kids yet we had no reason to go.  If you have kids from 6 months to older elementary age you need to take a day and stop into the Children's museum.

Hobbit Cafe

This is another unique spot that you won't find anywhere else.  It's a little hard to find, but well worth looking up.  I'm not a Lord of the Rings fan, but for those that do there are some interesting themes that you would love in this little restaurant.  The sandwiches and smoothies are incredible and the unique atmosphere makes the experience worth checking out.

Minute Maid Park

My home away from home!  Nothing beats a good Astros game... I just wish they would win a little more!  Even without a winning team it's always good to take in a Stros game with the family.

Honorable mention that we didn't make it to this trip:

Houston Zoo

Taste of Texas

Taft Street Coffee

I would love to hear any other Houston spots that you would suggest visiting?
