MTV gets the power of Social Media

If you haven't already heard, MTV is holding a competition for a new job at MTV as a TJ (Twitter Jockey). MTV describes the position as being the voice on Twitter for the entire MTV audience. There's a lot of influence that comes with this job and MTV gets that. Here's the metrics that they are using in the competition:

  • Influence: What you say is interesting and many people listen to it.
  • Popularity: How many people follow you.
  • Engagement: How actively you participate within your community.
  • Trust: Do people believe what you say.
