Book Tour - Facebook Foundations

Facebook now has over 1 billion users worldwide which can provide great value to almost every ministry or waste a lot of time if you don’t know how to use the platform effectively.  Understanding the capabilities of this network, as well as developing a practical strategy, can translate to very valuable ministry.  I will share tips and tricks for using Facebook both personally and organizationally by sharing his personal experiences and how the Online Church Facebook page has grown to over 250,000 fans. Session Interview with Jason Caston, author of The iChurch Method and Internet Church Developer at TD Jakes Ministries.

Facebook Session from the Virtual Book Tour

So I made a 1 character mistake which ended up being a pretty significant mistake. I promised those who purchased my book that I would send them links to view all of the sessions from the Virtual Book Tour On-Demand. This worked great except one of the links had one character missing. I tried to correct the issue as I received many emails about this issue and feel the best way to resolve is to share this session with everyone! I hope this training session on Facebook including my interview with Jason Caston encourages you and is a great resource for you and your ministry. Feel free to watch, share, or use however might be beneficial for you.

Introducing OnlineChurch.com

Screen shot 2012-10-16 at 5.34.16 PM I'm excited to announce to you that CBC Online has a new home at  OnlineChurch.com!  God has greatly blessed this ministry over the past couple of years and most recently with the opportunity to obtain the domain "OnlineChurch.com."   Mycbconline.com has served our ministry well, but we feel as if  "OnlineChurch.com" will open more opportunities to fulfill our mission to Reach, Teach, and Help people in Jesus’ name.  Mycbconline.com will continue to work as it always has but will serve as a forwarding tool rather than a landing page.  From our Facebook posts, tweets, emails, and all future communication we will be referring to our online platform as Online Church or OnlineChurch.com. We are beyond excited about this new name and new chapter in our ministry and truly feel as if God is at the center of this shift.  It is our prayer that this new domain will make it even easier for you to invite others to join you in worshipping with friends online from all over the world!  We would love for you to celebrate with us tonight starting at 7:00pm (CDT) as we gather for worship and relish in the joy that stems from being in fellowship with one another.

We look forward to what God has in store for us down the road and walking hand in hand with each of you.  Again, welcome to the new OnlineChurch.com!

The Best is Yet to Come!

The Art of Facebook Targeting

Screen Shot 2012-09-07 at 11.05.24 PM Have you ever utilized Facebook Targeting feature on your Ministry's Facebook Page?  I'm guessing you have ministry posts that are specific for a portion of your community and not for everyone.  You can utilize this feature to really target your posts to better reach your target audience.

For instance, with CBC Online we can target Spanish speakers about our Online Spanish services or  women for an Online Women's LifeGroup.  As you begin thinking through your page content begin asking yourself if this is important for everyone or if you should target the information for a certain target group within your community.

Facebook wants you to more effectively communicate as well as they want their users to find content that they think will be most important to them.  When you use the tool effectively, Facebook will reward you and your content will be seen by more of your Facebook community.  Learning an effective posting system/strategy on Facebook can be quite an art and you must stay flexible as the platform is always changing.  The good news is that most of the time it is changing in a good way and targeting is definitely an upgrade.

Give it a try today and see what you think!
