church conference

...and RightNow Media keeps getting better!

If you have read my blog at all or follow me on Twitter you already know that I'm a big fan of RightNow Media.  This has been an incredible resource to our church and has made me look really good with minimal effort.  I can go on and on about how great their product/service is, but I would rather use this post to go on about how great they are!  This past week I had the privilege of participating in the RightNow Conference and there were three things about the team there that stood out to me:

  1. Their hospitality - they were extremely generous and welcoming to myself and others that I was leading with.  I have attended many conferences and appreciate so much each of them, but the level of personal connection they made in their hospitality was second to none.  There is no doubt in my mind that the people behind RightNow Media are even better than the great product that they offer!
  2. Their innovation - at the conference they announced a new iPhone/iPad app that just released and behind the scenes let me in on some future plans.  Many organizations at this point would ride the wave that they are on without feeling the need to innovate.  RightNow Media feels they are only getting started and are looking to improve their service to churches in every possible way.
  3. Their heart - it might seem like a small thing, but it was meaningful to me to find out that RightNow Media is a nonprofit organization.  Essentially they are a ministry, not a business.  I believe that businesses can do ministry and that this is just a tax status, but this little piece of information only confirmed even more that the heart behind RightNow Media is serving the local church, not profiting from the it.

I'm honored to have been able to participate in the conference this past week and so grateful for the opportunity!  I can't wait for all that lies ahead for RightNow Media and grateful that I have been able to participate even in a small way.

Thank You RightNow Media for serving the church well!

I'm so excited to be participating in the RightNow Conference 2014.  I love this year's theme: His Gospel, His Mission, His Church!

I will be moderating a panel discussion on a topic that I've very passionate about: Using Technology and Media to Disciple People.  This is a topic that for many is confusing and for others controversial.  I love engaging in conversations from both perspectives both helping create clarity where there is confusion and engaging dialogue where there is controversy.  I would love for you to join me at the conference next week in Dallas as I know you will love the whole event.  It's not too late to register!

Here are the 2 other ministry leaders who will be joining me for the panel:

Bill Roberson -Bill has spent the last 15 years trying to learn how to creatively communicate in both the for-profit and non-profit worlds. With a background in graphic design and over 10 years experience in faith-based organizations, he has a passion to equip others to live a life of faith action. Bill previously directed communications efforts at Lake Pointe Church and BluefishTV in the Dallas area and is currently Communications Director at Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO. He has a unique perspective on RightNow Ministries – having served as both a volunteer and on staff. Bill and his wife Jen live in Monument, CO with their three kids Max, Nolan and Abbie. Broc Jahnke - Broc is the Spiritual Growth Pastor at Hope Fellowship in Frisco, TX.  Broc oversees all adult discipleship at Hope which includes pastoral care and counseling, home groups, classes and Bible studies and men's and women's events.  Broc has three kids that are involved too heavily in sports and a great wife that is the glue that holds them all together.

P.S. Probably most importantly, my pastor, Robert Emmitt, will be presenting at the conference this year as well!  I hope to see you there!

rightnow Media Leadership Events Library

I can't be more excited about rightNow Media and how much it is going to enhance our ministry at Community Bible Church.  One of the lesser known resources of the package is the Leadership Events Library. I'm a learner and love attending conferences, but am not able to do so for 2 primary reasons: time and money.  It's challenging to take the time away and justify the cost of the event and travel.  With rightnow Media's Leadership Events Library you and your entire team can now experience conferences like Catalyst, Echo, Verge, and so many more without leaving your church or even your home.  Take a look at this video:

What do you think about this resource?  Do you think you and your team would take advantage of this tool?

I'm thinking about having a video of the week for my team to watch and discuss at our weekly team meeting.  I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!  I'm pretty excited!

My title at CBC recently changed again and definitely my favorite yet: Innovation Pastor.  Just days after making this change I was contacted by my friends at Leadership Network to participate in their upcoming online conference: Church Innovate.

Here is a description of the event:

The church is constant changing.  Leadership Network works with hundreds of churches all over the United States and Canada.  In the course of that work, we've identified three major areas of ministry that are changing rapidly... three main areas of church innovation that are re-shaping the church as we know it... before our very eyes.

On Tuesday, May 14, you'll hear from the innovators that are at the front edge of these ministry trends.  Over the course of three hours, you'll hear what's working, and what these individual leaders and ministries are doing to develop new ways of reaching their communities and churches with the message of Jesus.

We'll concentrate our time together on three main church innovations and what we're learning: generocity, multisite ministry, and leadership development.

Scheduled speakers include Mark Batterson, Booby Gruenwald, Toby Slough, Gunnar Johnson, Craig Groeschel, Larry Osborne, Gary Vet, Jeff Jones, and many others!

We invite you to join us for FREE!  All you need to do is RSVP!

I'm extremely excited and honored to join these incredible innovators and with Leadership Network for this online event.  I hope you will set aside 3 hours in your day on Tuesday, May 14th for this FREE and exciting event.

Thank You All Access Conference!

This past week I had the privilege of being a part of the All Access Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.  The event was organized by the great people at ARC (Association of Related Churches and I can say without hesitation that it was the best conference experience I have ever had! Celebration Church was an incredible host, Jacksonville is a beautiful city, the speaker lineup was phenomenal, the media was top notch, but more than anything else the people were simply the best.  Marc Cleary and the ARC team know how to put on a great event that doesn’t just entertain a crowd of pastors, but truly connects them in relationship with each other.

I can’t wait for next year’s conference, as it will be back in Jacksonville again!  I encourage you to sign up now and lockin the incredible low rate of $49.
